Another Wednesday is upon us and I have actually been pretty productive….
I finished up one of my PHD’s (projects half done) just in time to give to my Mom for her 82nd birthday next week. It is a small lap quilt that she can use to keep cozy while watching TV or reading; or even as a table topper if she likes. I call it the Surprise Quilt; because of how it came together. I had some leftovers from my Sew Out Loud Quilt along and thought that I would use them for the back of that project. However, it is a wall quilt and you will never see the back and my hubby said that the blocks were too pretty to never been seen. So, I made a small quilt. ”Surprise!” What do you think?
Secondly, I received a happy phone call from a good friend of mine informing me that they were expecting child #4. What joyous news! I made quilts for his other babies, so of course I need to make one for this new little girl! I had a layer cake of Aneela Hoey’s “A Walk in the Woods” and thought it would be perfect. I kept the design fairly simple to let the cute fabrics shine and it is now ready to be sandwiched and quilted. I am so happy for this couple! This is how it came together…
That’s it for this week – but I feel pretty good about my accomplishments!
Now head on over to Lee’s Freshly Pieced and see what everyone else is up to.
Until next time, Connie ![]()

I have a stash of Aneela Hoey’s fabric and now am inspired to break it out and see what I can do with it. Thanks.
So glad you found some inspiration! I love this line – it is soooo cute. Thanks for the comment

Your hubby was quite right. Far too pretty to be hidden
